How do you support society?

Interestingly Different

Nickel Support CIC

Interestingly Different is a retail homeware and gift shop in Carshalton, Greater London and online that creates paid employment opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and showcases products from social enterprises around the United Kingdom.

They offer upcycled wooden furniture, homewares, jams, chutneys, tea blends, and other food products made by trainees at Nickel Support, their parent organisation, and they provide a space for adults with learning disabilities to be front and centre in their local community. The shop provides an opportunity for real ‘on the job’ retail training. With the long term goal of paid employment.

They partner with other organisations that create positive impact by supporting marginalised groups in their communities and producing ethical and sustainable products. Interestingly Different is a registered not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) and a member of Social Enterprise UK. They reinvest all surplus towards their mission.

Kind Action

We are kind in many ways. We work directly with adults with learning disability's across South London. Creating training and employment opportunities, both in product creation and retail experience.

We also help support over 30 organisations around the UK by selling their products and raising awareness of the work they are doing.

We like to think of ourselves as a one stop shop for customers to shop for meaningful gifts in a impactful way.
